Olympique Lyonnais is very pleased to announce the arrival of Serbian international, Nemanja Matic, from Stade Rennais, until June 30, 2026. The transfer amount amounts to €2.6 million.
Born in 1988 in the village of Vrelo, Nemanja Matic has an impressive CV with more than 600 professional matches played in his career. After his debut in Serbia, with the clubs of Kolubara and Košice,
the midfielder joined Vitesse Arnhem in 2010, then Benfica Lisbon the following season. Three years later, after being crowned Portuguese champion, he joined England with two significant stints: first at Chelsea from 2014 to 2017 where he played 154 matches and won 5 trophies (3 Premier League, 1 Cup, 1 League Cup), then at Manchester United from 2017 to 2022, accumulating 189 matches in the Mancunian jersey.
A left-handed defensive midfielder measuring 1.94m, with great physical and technical qualities, the Serbian international (48 caps) also wore the colors of AS Rome, reaching the final of the Europe League last May, his second participation in a personal final after that played with Manchester in 2021.
