Olivier Véran warns of a “rebound” in the Covid-19 epidemic

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, reported on Friday of a “rebound” in the Covid-19 epidemic, highlighting the need for fragile people to “continue to protect themselves”.

Traveling to Isère, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran played the warning card. Contaminations have greatly increased in recent days and some areas are more impacted than others.

The number of new contaminations amounted to 72,399 this Friday, even if the hospital tension is rather stable, in particular concerning people in critical care service.

“On the other hand, the hospital load continues to drop but the pace of this decrease has started to slow down, so we are extremely vigilant”, continued Olivier Véran.

He concluded his remarks by explaining that “on Monday we will meet the objectives that we had set ourselves, so there is no difficulty in going to the end of the process of the end of the vaccination pass and the end of the mask, except in the transports”.

Two measures that will mark a turning point for a possible return to normal life.
