DThe searches were underway Tuesday morning on several sites, in particular at the headquarters of the organizing committee (Cojo) of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and at the Olympic works delivery company (Solideo), indicated the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) , requested by Agence France-Presse. Partially confirming information from France Télévisions, the public prosecutor clarified that these searches were carried out as part of two preliminary investigations opened respectively in 2017 and 2022 on suspicion of illegal taking of interests and favouritism. They both concern contracts awarded within the framework of the organization of the Games.
The searches are carried out by the Oclciff (Central Office for the Fight against Corruption and Financial and Tax Offenses) and the Parisian BRDE (Financial Brigade of the Judicial Police), we learned from the same source. The Cojo is constituted in the form of an association under the 1901 law. The Court of Auditors closely monitors its activity and is due to publish a report very soon.

In April 2021, two reports from the French anti-corruption agency (AFA) on the organization of the Olympic Games, of which AFP became aware, pointed to “risks of breach of probity” and “conflicts of interest”, scratching the image of the “exemplary” Olympics wanted by the boss of the organizing committee, Tony Estanguet. These two initial reports delivered in early 2021, including Le chained duck had already mentioned the content nearly a month ago, are devoted to the organizing committee itself and to Solideo, the company which must deliver the works for the Games.
The AFA inspectors considered that the general procedure relating to purchases is “imprecise and incomplete”, and underlined that there are “sometimes situations of potential conflicts of interest that are not controlled”.
