I mainly played Hogwarts Legacy to make a good benchmark of recent games. The graphics were almost all in ultra: it’s beautiful and the screen highlights them well. On other games (Assassin’s Creed, CS GO…), the power makes it possible to run the least greedy in ultra mode without necessarily triggering the ventilation. Regarding raw power and the uses that result from it (photo processing, programming, etc.), in other words, the computer has it under its feet. The power offered in such a compact format is simply stunning! In addition, it is a very versatile and pleasant model to use. I would recommend the OMEN 16 laptop without hesitation, even to non-gamers.

After two weeks of heavy use, my experience with the OMEN 16 laptop was overall very positive. What struck me the most was undoubtedly its very good quality QHD screen. Thanks to the latter, I really enjoyed my gaming sessions. On several occasions, I found myself admiring the finesse of the graphics on different games which, it must be admitted, are much less obvious on a Full HD screen. . I even found navigation more pleasant with this screen. The presence of wifi 6E (a very recent technology) was a pleasant discovery for downloading our favorite games very quickly. After plugging in a mouse, headset, and mic, I was able to play games like Resident Evil 4 Remake (high to ultra graphics quality), Dredge, Killing Floor 2 (graphics in ultra), or even Dead Space Remake (ultra graphics, Ray Tracing ON).

Without any hesitation, I can conclude that this gaming laptop fulfills its role well. Its responsiveness, performance and finishes are of rather exemplary quality. Special mention for the screen which remains my biggest crush. The only criticism I could make of it is its very noisy cooling system. In addition, the laptop still ends up heating up after a while, especially with the most demanding games. This model can fully meet the expectations of the most demanding casual players.

The OMEN 16 laptop has some nice surprises in store for me on points where I didn’t expect it: its thinner design than I had imagined and the comfort it offers for ordinary uses (apart from games ). With a numeric keypad to complement the keyboard, it would have been perfect! Regarding the essential point of the test, namely the power in play, the contract is fulfilled: the OMEN 16 laptop PC offers the expected graphics performance. It allows you to play the most demanding recent games without compromising on graphics options. Even if it is not really a surprise, these performances are paid on the other hand by a noisy ventilation in game (well insulating helmet essential). What is more surprising is that the machine remains slightly noisy when not playing. In my opinion, the fluidity of the computer largely compensates for this inconvenience, but it remains a small defect.

I very much enjoyed the two weeks spent with the computer. Efficient and pleasant to use (fluidity, quality of the screen, etc.), I wanted to turn it on both to play and for other uses. Even if the machine is relatively compact with regard to its technical sheet, I prefer for my part to use it in a sedentary way and possibly transport it from time to time. I can’t imagine actually using it as a nomadic machine. It is a model that I will recommend mainly to users for whom the noise of the ventilation does not represent a major inconvenience.
