Coins, rings or even pirate treasure? Aldi is currently offering a metal detector for children with which the little ones can go on a treasure hunt.

There are currently some good offers for young and old explorers in Aldi’s online shop. Among other things, the discounter offers a metal detector for children for just 40 euros. The device works exactly like a “real” metal detector, but of course it is not a professional device.
The length of the children’s metal detector can be adjusted between 76 and 88 centimeters. It has an LCD screen on which all important information can be found. The search depth is a maximum of 12 centimeters.
After switching on, the device is slowly moved back and forth about two centimeters above the ground. If a metal object is found, the detector emits an acoustic and a light signal.
The device is waterproof up to 15 centimeters. This means you can also search for treasures in puddles or shallow bodies of water. A 9-volt battery is required for operation. This is not included in the delivery.
The metal detector is 88 x 19 x 14 centimeters and weighs 900 grams. An operating manual is included in the scope of delivery. Overall, for a price of just under 40 euros, you get a simple device that children can certainly have a lot of fun with when they go on a discovery tour.

Important instructions
Please note that you are not allowed to go treasure hunting anywhere in Germany and other countries without permission. Sometimes you need an excavation permit or permission from the owner. So you should definitely find out in advance where you are allowed to use “probes”.
In addition, caution is always advised when “treasure hunting”. In Germany, it is not uncommon for leftover ammunition from the war to be found in the soil, which can pose a great danger. Please also note that archaeological finds must be reported.
