The Fox: Prince of Thieves – Wednesday January 17
If the story of Oliver Twist has been adapted for the screen many times, today it is a continuation of this story by Charles Dickens which is seeing the light of day in the form of an 8-episode series, entitled The Fox : Prince of thieves.
Several years after the events of the novel, Jack Dawkins, alias the Fox, has swapped his activity as a pickpocket for that of a surgeon, but the arrival of Fagin makes him plunge back into crime. However, the biggest threat (to the Fox’s heart, at least) is none other than Lady Belle, the governor’s daughter, who is determined to become the colony’s first surgeon.
In the shoes of Jack Dawkins, we find Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit, The Labyrinth), who shares the poster with Maia Mitchell (The Fosters, Good Trouble) and an unrecognizable David Thewlis. Don’t miss this series full of surprises, January 17 on Disney+.
Cristóbal Balenciaga – Friday January 19
Famous Spanish fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga is in the spotlight in January on Disney+ for the launch of a series inspired by his life and work. Actor Alberto San Juan was chosen to portray on screen this enigmatic man with extraordinary talent who defied the conventions of his time and revolutionized the world of fashion.
The series begins when Cristóbal Balenciaga presented his first Parisian Haute Couture collection in 1937, and traces his impressive career to becoming one of the greatest fashion designers of all time.
The cast brings together a handful of actors from all walks of life, including Belén Cuesta, Josean Bengoetxea, Cecilia Solaguren, Adam Quintero, Gemma Whelan and the French Anouk Grinberg, Gabrielle Lazure and Nine d’Urso.
