On the A9 in Rottenmann – After a truck accident: 24 tons shifted by hand

In the middle of the ditch between the two lanes, a truck came to rest on the A9 near Rottenmann. The driver had lost control and broke through the center rail with the vehicle. The salvage was particularly difficult: 24 tons of marble powder had to be shifted by hand.

A spectacular picture Wednesday evening: Between the two lanes of the Phyrnautobahn in Rottenmann, an overturned truck lay in the ditch. Luckily, the driver was able to get out of the cab unharmed. He had previously lost control of the vehicle and broke through the central guard rail just before a tunnel portal in the direction of Linz. 24 tons shifted with muscle power Even if there was no major damage, the accident rescue was extremely difficult. Not only the inaccessible place, but also the load required the Rottenmann fire brigade to work until the early hours of the morning. 24 tons of marble powder, filled into 25-kilogram sacks, had to be shifted by hand (!) in order to then be salvaged with the crane. Some of the pallets slipped as a result of the impact.
