Jordan Bardella, president of the National Rally, is traveling to the Alpes-Maritimes this Wednesday to talk about immigration. In particular, he visited the Nice administrative detention center which has 35 places, compared to 140 in other centers such as Marseilles or Lyons.

The Prime Minister had promised, 150 additional police and gendarmes will be mobilized to monitor the Franco-Italian border. Since the beginning of the year, more than a thousand unaccompanied minors have entered the Alpes-Maritimes. The National Rally wants to be at the forefront of this crisis. Jordan Bardella visited the Nice administrative detention center on Wednesday morning.

A situation that has become “out of control”

The administrative detention center of Nice is located within the central police station of the city. It has 35 places, which is relatively low compared to other centers such as Marseille or Lyon for example, which has 140. However, the Alpes-Maritimes have been subject to a substantial influx of migrants from Italy since the beginning of the year.

“I think the migration issue is a major issue today and the government seems completely overwhelmed by a situation that has gotten out of control,” said Jordan Bardella.

“The symbol of the State’s inability to protect French borders”

“The work of the police, of the police at the borders of Menton, whether at the administrative detention center or at the border post that we are going to visit, is the symbol of the State’s inability to protect the French borders. I think that basically, this government does not want to control immigration. And it is also the record of the Minister of the Interior who looks more like a minister of mass immigration than an interior minister in charge of protecting the French,” he continued.

The president of the RN described Tuesday as a “little politician” by Gérald Darmanin, therefore responds to the Minister of the Interior, who deployed two squadrons of additional mobile gendarmes three weeks ago at the border, after repeated alerts from deputies of the Alpes-Maritimes, like Eric Ciotti.
