According to police, the accident occurred in the Les Combins region between the Val de Bagnes and the Val d’Entremont.
The rescue workers are on site, as Stève Léger, spokesman for the Valais cantonal police, confirmed a report by local radio Rhône FM. Seven helicopters were used for the rescue, three from Air Glaciers, three from Air Zermatt and one from Rega, he added.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation, which is being carried out by the Swiss Security Investigation Service (SESE) in collaboration with the Valais police.
Two helicopter accidents have already occurred in Valais this year. In mid-February, a pilot who was alone on board crashed and was injured in the Niouc region. In mid-March, a helicopter crashed on a training area in the municipality of Vétroz. One of the two occupants was slightly injured.
