The firefighters were on their way to an exercise when, for reasons that have not yet been clarified, they got off the road with the tank fire engine in St. Georgen im Lavanttal and fell into a creek bed. “Eight comrades were injured to an unspecified degree. One had to be flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter,” says Markus Schauer from the Wolfsberg district fire brigade command.
