While you may be devouring season 3 of Sonic Prime, two other new releases have just entered the Netflix catalog. The first of these is En Plein Vol. An exclusive which was produced by F Gary Gray (NWA Straight Outta Compton, Fast and Furious 8), and which could be the “spiritual sequel” to Italian Heist. “A heist pro attempts the coup of the century with an experienced team. A team of experts with an ace heist, Úrsula Corberó from La Casa de papel, Jean Réno (Léon), Sam Worthington (Avatar), Bill Magnussen (The Big Short), Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man No Way Home), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil) or Kevin Hart (Jumanji) who is the mastermind of this collective of thieves.
A winning move for Netflix? The viewing figures will tell, but the early reviews are very cold. “If you want to watch En Plein Vol and hope for something fun, you can do better than this unimaginative and bland thriller” (High on Films). “When there are Italian Heist vibes, In Flight is a passable film. Too bad this gang of thieves seems more like a group of anonymous, forgettable co-workers, rather than charming, charismatic co-workers.” (Midwest Film Journal).
