Netflix has a lot of things planned this year with two major releases for next month. And it’s the SF feature film Spaceman which will open the ball from March 1 with Adam Sandler and Paul Dano (The Riddler in The Batman). A week later, the platform will also release another highly anticipated project which was quite expensive. The firm with the red N has in fact invested 70 million dollars to offer an epic spectacle. To play the main role, Netflix was not looked far. The platform has once again placed its trust in Millie Bobby Brown who plays Eleven in the series Stranger Things. She will be alongside Nick Robinson (Kong Skull Island), Shohreh Aghdashloo (24 Hours Chrono), Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Angela Bassett seen in several Marvel productions including Black Panther.
This is clearly an event film for Netflix which perhaps hopes to turn it into a franchise. The SVOD service indeed needs large-scale projects to continue to create an identity, and to continually attract people. The latest trailer for The Lady and the Dragon (Damsel) in any case shows certain visual ambitions, but the rest must also be up to standard. It will be available on March 8, 2024 on Netflix.
