After having until now reserved for Windows Insider testers, Microsoft is starting to deploy a cleaner and less cluttered version of its cloud computing application to the general public.

OneDrive is a service that aims to synchronize your data located in the cloud with your PCs. This essential application to the experience that Microsoft wishes to offer had not been touched up for several years. The makeover undergone by OneDrive on the occasion of its 15 years brings more coherence to the general design of Windows. The integration is now complete.

Microsoft clarifies OneDrive interface on Windows 11

The essential features of OneDrive have not been changed at all. Alone its visual elements have been given an overhaul. Here, Microsoft has emphasized clarity and simplicity, both in terms of design and in the didactic aspect of the application. Everything is very well explained, with many illustrations. The program is intended understandable and easy to learn for all types of public: the mission is accomplished. Still in the field of small changes that do not look like much, but that change lives, we will note the possibility of choosing between the “Light” or “Dark” modes.

In the same vein, the user interface integrates uniformly with Windows 11: it does not have the impression of switching from one application to another. Indeed, OneDrive now offers a side menu identical to the one we know in the operating system. It’s also easier to see how much cloud storage you have left with a horizontal bar located at the bottom left of the screen. These changes have been spotted by Dr. Windows, but the German site does not provide any information regarding the deployment schedule for this revamped version of OneDrive.
