This Wednesday, August 3, 2022, OnePlus presented its new flagship, the OnePlus 10T 5G, a smart phone high-end equipped with the superstar SoC of the moment, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from Qualcomm. Good news: the model will be accompanied by a 160 W charging block allowing a full recharge in less than 20 minutes.

With its beautiful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and its positioning at less than 850 euros, the OnePlus 10T 5G clearly intends to overshadow the Asus Zenfone 9, also expected by the end of this month of August.

OnePlus 10T 5G: a very solid technical sheet

After its conference at Gotham Hall in New York, OnePlus presents its new flagship, the OnePlus 10T 5G. A high-end smartphone equipped with the most powerful chip of the moment, the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. With 8 to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM to accompany it on a daily basis, depending on the configuration chosen, this new model should please mobile video game enthusiasts.

Especially since the manufacturer welcomes the integration of the largest and most powerful cooling system ever installed on a OnePlus smartphone. Without forcing the model to gigantism, since the phone measures 163 mm x 75.37 mm x 8.75 mm, with a design unibody, supposed to offer an excellent feeling in hand. The OnePlus 10T 5G is a bit heavy, as it still weighs 203 grams.

Its back, like its front, is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is equipped with a large 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ definition (2412 x 1080p, 394 dpi) and HDR10+ compatible. To ensure constant fluidity in all situations, it offers a dynamic refresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz.

It should also be noted that the model has a 4,800 mAh dual-cell battery, compatible with 150 W SUPERVOOC fast charging. Thus, according to the manufacturer, going from 1 to 100% battery should only take 19 minutes. It should be noted that a 160 W charger will be supplied with the smartphone.

A photo part that will have to prove itself

The back of the OnePlus 10T 5G has three sensors and a dual LED flash. The main camera, the 50 megapixel Sony IMX766 lens (f/1.8; 1/1.56″; 1.0 µm), left us with very good memories on the Nothing phone (1). However, the two other sensors offered leave us, for the moment, somewhat skeptical.

On the photography side, the new OnePlus flagship offers exactly the same recipe as the Nubia REDMAGIC 7S Pro. Namely the excellent main sensor that we have just mentioned, accompanied by an ultra wide-angle of only 8 megapixels (f / 2.2; 120 °; 1.12 μm) and a Macro module of 2 megapixels. Sensors that did not impress us.

At the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie sensor (f / 2.4; 1.0 µm), as also offered by Nubia’s gaming smartphone. Once again, it is a sensor that did not convince us. However, let’s wait for our test to see how the OnePlus 10T 5G does on the photography part.

The OnePlus 10T 5G, priority to receive OxygenOS 13

A few months after its release, the OnePlus 10T 5G will be the first smartphone from the manufacturer to receive the update to OxygenOS 13, the new version of the house overlay.

This will incorporate a aquamorphic design “, enhanced security and the optimization of the features preferred by the OnePlus community, which has also participated in improving OxygenOS.
