Opening Paris: the CAC40 caught up by the decline


THE TREND

(Boursier.com) — The CAC40, which had gone through the last sessions well, despite the sharp declines recorded on the American market (the Nasdaq: -2.60%, -1.15%, -1.30% remains example on three sharp declines), is overtaken by the movement and falls below 7,100 points, on a decline of 1.50% (7,085 points).

investors are nervously awaiting the meeting of the Fed’s Monetary Policy Committee next Tuesday and Wednesday, from which they await new indications on the strategy to adopt against inflation. The market anticipates an acceleration of the institution’s monetary policy tightening with an increase in interest rates as of March.

Note, during the day, an intervention by Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, during an online conference organized by the World Economic Forum.

WALL STREET

After a good attempt at a rebound at the start of the session, the New York Stock Exchange fell again at the end of the evening to end down for the third session in a row, despite a slight respite on the front of interest rates and oil. The Nasdaq rose 2% in the session before losing more than 1% at the close, sinking into the correction zone. The latest company results were however well received, pending those of netflixexpected after closing.

At the close, the Dow Jones lost 0.89% to 34,715 points, after -2.4% over the previous two sessions. The broad index S&P500 fell 1.1% to 4,482 pts (after -2.6%), and the Nasdaq Compositerich in technology and biotech stocks, fell again 1.3% to 14,154 pts, after falling 3.7% on Tuesday and Wednesday.

RISING VALUES

Nicox (+0.75% to 2.71 Euros): at December 31, 2021, the group had cash and cash equivalents of 41.9 million euros, compared to 32.7 million euros at 30 September 2021 and €47.2 million as of December 31, 2020. The company estimates to be financed until the fourth quarter of 2023 taking into account only the development of the NCX 470. Net sales1 for the fourth quarter of 2021 were €3.5 million (including €0.5 million net royalty payments and €3 million non-cash impact initially recognized as deferred revenue following a milestone payment from Ocumension in March 2020). Net revenue for the fourth quarter of 2020 was 5.8 million (consisting of 0.3 million net royalty payments and 5.5 million payments for entering into license agreements).

Company of the Alps (+0.70% to 14.40 Euros): Turnover for the 1st quarter of the 2021/2022 financial year amounted to 166.7 ME, establishing a historic level for this period. Restated from leaving Les 2 Alpes, it is up 36.6% compared to the 1st quarter of the 2018/2019 financial year and 20.5% compared to the 1st quarter of the 2019/2020 financial year despite a health context still burdensome.

Boiron (+8.40% to 39.40 Euros): Over the whole of 2021, turnover fell by 11.4%, following the delisting of homeopathy on January 1, 2021 in France, and the absence of winter pathologies in the first quarter, attributable to the context of the global health crisis. This decline was contained thanks to sales of new products which amounted to around 50 ME, a significant part of which came from sales of COVID tests, mainly in France and Belgium. Given the increase in sales in the fourth quarter, the annual operating profit for 2021 is estimated to be higher than that published in 2020, which was 38.2 ME.

GL Events (+4.70% to 17.70 Euros): As of December 31, 2021, turnover amounted to 741.2 ME, up 54.6% compared to the previous financial year. In the 4th quarter of 2021, turnover amounted to 303.4 ME, the volume of activity over the quarter almost tripled compared to the 4th quarter of 2020 and almost returned to its 2019 level. Given the level of activity achieved in 2021, GL Events confirms its objective of net income Group share above 10 ME against a net loss of 74 ME in 2020.

FALLING VALUES

Airbus (-1.50% to 113.96 Euros): announced Thursday evening the cancellation of the contract for an order of 50 A321neo by Qatar Airways, while the two groups have been opposing for months about another Airbus model, the A350. The canceled contract was concluded ten years ago and then represented $4.6 billion at list prices. It was then modified to integrate 10 copies of the new version of the A321.

Biosynex (-1.60% to 22.50 Euros) continued, in 2021, its very strong growth trajectory started in 2020. The annual turnover thus stands at 382.7 million euros, i.e. a multiplication by 2.5 compared to the previous financial year, after a 338% increase already recorded between 2019 and 2020.

Vetoquinol (-2.75% to 133.20 Euros) recorded 2021 revenue of 521 ME, up +21.9% on a reported basis and +22.3% at constant exchange rates. At the end of December 2021, activity in Essential products amounted to 296 ME, up +33.3% at constant exchange rates. The laboratory specifies that these Essential products continue their growth dynamic, driven by the permanent development of the existing portfolio and by the contribution of the Drontal and Profender products.
