Operation in Simmering – man shot in shop, perpetrator (34) caught!

Large police operation in Vienna-Simmering. There was a shooting attack in a Turkish shop on Sunday afternoon. A 38-year-old Iranian was killed. The perpetrator (34) was caught a little later by the Cobra.

The victim was said to have been hit in the chest with a gun. The Cobra immediately went in search of the culprit – with success. Because the identity of the suspect was quickly clarified. The 34-year-old Iranian was arrested after he had been persuaded by telephone to surrender. A large police force was deployed, including an armored car. Numerous rescue workers could also be seen on Simmeringer Hauptstraße. Because of the police operation in the Hauffgasse stop area, tram line 71 could not stop there in either direction, Wiener Linien announced on its online presence. A murder weapon has not yet been secured, and the reasons for the bloody deed are also still unclear. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office is conducting further investigations. This is the second murder this Sunday in Austria. A Pole (35) fatally injured with a knife was found in a small truck on a motorway parking lot in the Innsbruck-Land district. Previously, numerous knife attacks were also reported in Vienna.
