According to the police, five of the activists illegally climbed onto the tracks at around 4:30 a.m. to protest against the planned city road and the Lobau tunnel and chained themselves up. On Monday evening, after about a year and a last ultimatum from the city of Vienna, the ex-occupiers had to finally vacate the previously occupied park in the Anfanggasse in Donaustadt. The squatters became camp nomads – the “Krone” reported. The good news for all commuters and schoolchildren: the regular railway operations are not affected because construction work is currently being carried out in the area anyway, according to the ÖBB.
