On Tuesday morning, several protesters from “LobauBleibt” occupied ÖBB train tracks in the area of ​​the Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse S-Bahn station in Vienna-Donaustadt. After the last occupied Lobau camp was cleared on Monday evening, the activists announced that they would continue the protest.

According to the police, five of the activists illegally climbed onto the tracks at around 4:30 a.m. to protest against the planned city road and the Lobau tunnel and chained themselves up. The good news for all commuters and schoolchildren: the regular railway operations are not affected because construction work is currently being carried out in the area anyway, according to the ÖBB.
