NumSpot is one of the latest born in France positioned in the sovereign cloud niche. Behind this new player, we find major French companies: Docaposte, Dassault Systèmes, Bouygues Telecom and Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts).
One year after its creation, its shareholders organized a press conference on November 29 to take stock of the actions carried out and announce their roadmap for 2024. They thus recalled NumSpot’s sectoral priorities: the public sector, health and finance.
France Services and CNP on the NumSpot cloud
These three markets share strong challenges in terms of data protection and migration to the cloud – in a hybrid mode for banks and insurance companies. By the end of 2023, NumSpot will have around a hundred employees to carry out these projects.
The entity is already operational, underlined its executive president, Alain Issarni. Indeed, thanks to Outscale’s SecNumCloud certified IaaS brick, NumSpot is already able to conduct cloud migrations.
This is also what was carried out with Docaposte for Maisons France Services, whose on-premise IS was entirely migrated to the cloud. This is what Guillaume Poupard, the deputy general director of Docaposte, came to testify about.
France Services can thus exploit the agility of the cloud. The next will be to deploy managed services. This NumSpot offer is currently under development. The first customers will be able to test it during the first quarter of 2024.
Kubernetes, OpenShift and database in 2024
The public availability of the catalog of first managed services is planned for May 2024. There will be three of them: Kubernetes, OpenShift and database. These services are presented as “absolutely essential.”
During 2024, NumSpot will develop other managed products for the cloud, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. Experiments are already being carried out, particularly in health.
Guillaume Poupard cited the example of a use case of generative AI for practitioners and allowing them to carry out different treatments on patient files, including research and summaries.
A PoC demonstrated the feasibility and performance of the model (provided by LightOn) and the industrialization stage can now begin. NumSpot aims more broadly to develop trusted AI services.
Trusted AI and AI Gen as priority
This offer could be of interest to an insurer like CNP Assurances and its 20 million customers. The company must first migrate to the NumSpot cloud. The project is validated and will focus on the construction of its new data platform.
To support its development, the sovereign cloud operator also sets itself the objective of enriching its ecosystem of partners and its ranking with public buyers. In this area, NumSpot claims a first success.
Indeed, the Hospital IT Purchasing Center (CAIH) selected NumSpot for a public cloud service as part of a contract won by Sopra Steria for consulting, support and hosted infrastructure activities for hospital data. health.
Concerning the SecNumCloud qualification process, a Holy Grail for the company, it will be initiated in the first quarter of 2024. This project will take time, however, we warn. The challenge for NumSpot is to be the first provider to have certified managed services.
SecNumCloud constitutes a strong differentiator compared to competing trusted cloud solutions for which certification is likely to be more complicated.
