However, Ophélie Meunier did not escape the threats and her safety had to be ensured. “I did the job that I feel I should do on a show whose decision is ultimately mine. I claim to have authorized this broadcast. But because I was asked to. We could have taken the opposite decision“, continued the president. “I consider it my duty of responsibility: if you call it interference, I call it the exercise of my profession.“, he concluded. In this case, the journalist is not the only one to have received threats. Indeed, the lawyer Amine Elbahi, who appears in several sequences of the report, spoke on BFMTV. “My phone number circulated on social networks, several murder calls were broadcast“, he revealed before adding: “I am threatened with beheading, with the throat cut, with attacking me because I held a speech of truth with an uncovered face and in particular on the inaction of the mayor of my commune”, he concluded.
