Oppo is entering the touch pad market in France. On the sidelines of its series of Reno 8 smartphones, for which it also announces the prices, the brand is formalizing its Pad Air on the French market.

How the pricing table works

The smartphones had been expected for several weeks, after being formalized in China. Following a presentation leaving their effective price in suspense, Oppo announces the availability of its Reno 8 series, which has three smartphones: in addition to the Reno 8 “just short”, it includes a Reno 8 Pro and a Reno 8 Lite.

The characteristics are already known: 6.7-inch Amoled screen for the Reno 8 Pro and 6.4-inch for the Reno 8, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz for the first and 60 Hz for the second, MediaTek chips (Dimension 8100 for the first and 1300 for the second), and 4500 mAh batteries compatible with charging at 80 W. For the Reno 8 Lite, count on a 6.43-inch Amoled panel (60 Hz), on a battery of 4500 mAh with a charge at 33 W and on a less rich photo block than that of the Reno 8 and 8 Pro: while the former benefit from a triple module (50 megapixels for the wide-angle, 8 Mpx for the ultra wide-angle and 2 Mpx for the macro), the Reno 8 Lite offers a main sensor of 64 megapixels and two sensors of 2 megapixels (macro and depth).

The prices of these three smartphones are now official. So count 449 € for the Reno 8 Lite, 599 € for the Reno 8 and 799 € for the Reno 8 Pro.

How the pricing table works

If Oppo already offers several tablets in China, it was absent from this market in France. The brand is making its debut there today with the Pad Air, already available in China The tablet, rather modest in terms of features, is based on a 10.36-inch LCD screen (1200 x 2000 pixels) under which a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, flanked by 4 GB of RAM and 64 to 128 GB of storage. Oppo also offers a microSD port. To satisfy multimedia enthusiasts, the manufacturer has equipped the set with four Dolby Atmos compatible speakers.

We note in the radius of autonomy that the tablet, which measures 245.08 x 154.84 x 6.94 mm (480 g) includes a 7100 mAh battery compatible with 18 W charging, Bluetooth 6.1 and a sensor 8-megapixel rear camera, while a 5-megapixel module sits in front. Everything is powered by Android 12 with Color OS 12.1, in a version dedicated to tablets and folding screens.

Positioned at the entry level, the Oppo Pad Air is announced at €299 in its 64 GB version and at €349 for its 128 GB version. The first will be available from the first days of September, and the second in the weeks that follow. . Too bad all the same that despite its compatibility with a stylus announced in China, it is neither supplied as a pack nor available as an option with the tablet.
