(CercleFinance.com) – Orange announces a new industry-wide GSMA initiative called GSMA Open Gateway, a foundation of application programming interfaces (APIs) designed to provide developers with universal access to operator networks.
Launched with the support of Orange and twenty other mobile operators, this approach has already made it possible to harmonize the telecommunications sector around open APIs, as demonstrations at MWC 2023 in Barcelona show.
The GSMA Open Gateway will help developers and cloud providers enrich and deploy services faster, by providing single access points to carrier networks.
The initiative kicks off with eight network APIs, including Edge Site Selection and Routing to support autonomous vehicles and SIM Swap to fight financial crime. It plans to launch other APIs throughout 2023.
