A control entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the City of Paris (IGVP), which must in particular carry out an audit “on the process of reporting and processing all reports”, which would be received and issued by residents, their families, their relatives or support services for the elderly in Paris.
At the same time, the municipality announced that “a project would be undertaken on the prevention and detection of abuse among the elderly receiving help and care at home”. In addition, the former State Councilor Jean-Marie Delarue, who was the president of the National Consultative Commission on Human Rights in 2019, was entrusted with a mission on access to the rights of people received in Parisian nursing homes.

“It took a wish and a topical question to force the City of Paris to strengthen its controls on Parisian nursing homes”, underlined Hélène Jacquemont this Wednesday, February 9, on the sidelines of the Paris Council.
The elected representative of the 17th arrondissement, a member of the opposition group Changer Paris, said “deplore the absence of controls and the disguised reduction in the means dedicated to dependency”. And to question the executive: “what are you doing to control nursing homes and ensure that acts of abuse never occur again in any of the 62 Parisian nursing homes?”.
Finally, the socialist senator and president of the Paris en Commun group at the Paris Council Rémi Féraud, should launch an information and evaluation mission (MIE) dedicated to seniors in Paris. A mission that should be presented at a future meeting of the Council of Paris.
