Oscars 2023 without Tom Cruise: the star of Top Gun Maverick had a good reason!

But where could Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, who was absent from the 2023 Oscars ceremony, be hiding? The actor, whose film Top Gun Maverick received 6 nominations, was unable to walk the Californian red carpet. For what ?

But where could Tom Cruise, the big absentee from the 2023 Oscars ceremony, be hiding? The actor, who has “saved the loaves of Hollywood with Top Gun Maverickas Steven Spielberg said, was not present to represent the film, nominated in 6 categories.

“I’m serious, Top Gun Maverick might have saved the entire film industry”had hammered Spielby while taking Tom Cruise in his arms during the lunch of the nominees last February.

In any case, the host of the ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel, did not fail to make fun of his absence, just like that of James Cameron: “The two guys who most insisted that we go back to the cinema are not here tonight!”he joked.

With 1.5 billion dollars in worldwide box office receipts, the feature film created a surprise, becoming one of the biggest successes of the year. It was therefore surprising not to see its main actor walking the red carpet of the Oscars!

According EntertainmentTonight, Tom Cruise had a very good reason not to be present. Indeed, the Hollywood superstar is in the middle of filming Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part.2. The latter takes place in England and the artist could not free himself to attend the Oscars ceremony.

However, Lady Gaga was present to represent the film. The singer electrified the stage by interpreting the flagship title of the feature film, hold my hand.

Finally, Everything Everywhere All At Once swept the major awards, leaving Top Gun Maverick the Oscar for Best Sound.

If the feature film had won the Best Picture trophy, producer Jerry Bruckheimer was expected to go on stage to accept the statuette. However, without Tom Cruise, it wouldn’t have been the same.

As a reminder, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part.1 will land on July 12, 2023 in cinemas.
