Academy announces date
The 97th Academy Awards will take place in 2025.

Just last month the Oscars were awarded for the 96th time. Now the Academy is revealing the date for the 2025 award ceremony.
“Mark your calendars,” writes the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in her new Instagram post. The date for the 97th Academy Awards next year 2025 has been set.

This time, the awarding of the world’s most important film prize falls on the first Sunday in March, specifically March 2, 2025. Most recently, the Academy chose the second Sunday in March. The show begins in Los Angeles at 4:00 p.m. (local time) at the Dolby Theater. In this country, the Oscars will probably be broadcast again on ProSieben from around midnight on March 3, 2025.
Other important dates surrounding the next Oscar ceremony have also been set. Preliminary voting for the Oscar shortlist in ten categories will take place from December 9th to 13th, 2024, with the results announced on December 17th. The voting period for the nominations is from January 8th to 12th, 2025, the announcement of the nominations will be on January 17th, 2025.
This year the awarding of the famous Golden Boys took place on March 10th. The most successful film was Christopher Nolan’s, 53, “Oppenheimer” with seven Oscars, which previously also had the most nominations.
