The French favorite league is back in just a few hours and we expect a spring segment of madness. Between the XXL transfer window many teams, including the arrivals of Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, Juš “Crownshot” Marušič or Liyu “Cody Sun” Sun, the hype of the league and the rivalries that can be found, we can not wait for the start of the competition.
At the time of the predictions for this new LFL season, we decided to make our own, but rather unusual. Those are prognoses that are unlikely to happen but as you never know in esport, anything can happen. so here’s our wildest bets for the LFL Spring Split.
Rekkles goes flop
Any League of Legends esports fan knows Rekkles. The Swede is one of the biggest gaming legends in Europe and has just arrived at the Karmine Corp after a disappointing year at G2 Esports. However elected MVP of Spring Split in 2021, Rekkles failed to find a new team within LEC and was in the obligation to go back down to a regional league to continue playing. While this may sound like another chance to prove yourself to move up in the European league, it can also feel like a waning end of career.
Obviously this is unlikely to happen but we can think that the performances of the former star of Fnatic will disappoint fans. We have already had the opportunity to see him play during showmatch against KOI, the new team of Ibai and Gérard Piqué, and we cannot say that he was transcendent. We might expect a lot from the Swede, but his performances were not as convincing as we hoped and if he doesn’t level up, he could well disappoint.
Solary will win the title
After several difficult seasons with many failures to qualify for the playoffs, Solary finally succeeded during the Summer Split 2021. If the team of friends succeeded in this performance, it is thanks to the continuity of its roster throughout the year when others have decided to greatly revamp theirs. And for 2022, Solary has not changed her vision and has renewed four of her five players by making only one change. This transfer window marked the arrival of a rookie, Simon “Kio” Králik in the place of Cédric “Eyliph” Robert which was nevertheless convincing at the end of the season.
In fact, by being the only structure that relies on continuity, we can think that Solary will have a clear advantage over its competitors and will be able to capitalize on them. Even though the road to the title is long and the competition tough, If the players continue their momentum and Kio manages to adapt quickly, we could see a first title for Solary. Added to this is the fact that this roster is known to play the late game and that the meta seems to suit these players, especially Marcel “Scarlet” Wiederhofer.
To see how it will happen but the first week of competition will be complicated against two competitors in the title, Vitality.Bee and Team BDS Academy.
Misfits Premier will miss the playoffs
LFL champion and reigning French champion, Misfits Premier has lost almost all of its roster, with the exception of its ADC, Paweł “Woolite” Pruski. In fact, Misfits Academy may well have difficulty recovering from this offseason. Initially with Mertai “Mersa” Sari at the support station, the team will finally play with Oskar “Vander” Bogdan during the start of the season. In less good form in recent years, the Polish support could well have a hard time in the French league, just like his new teammate, Kristian “TynX” Østergaard Hansen, waited at the turn.
The Danish jungler was in LEC but was benched in the middle of the season for a lack of involvement. To see if he manages to relaunch his career or if it will sink him a little more. Finally, Mateusz “Czajek” Czajka remains a very promising rookie but who still has a lot to prove and may well have gaps in the face of experienced midlaners. Even if a non-qualification in the playoffs seems surreal, given the competition in the league, it may well be that mistakes pay cash.
Logically, these predictions are unlikely to happen but we expect such a crazy season that they could well happen.
