There are not only new pictures for “Outlander” Season 7, Part 2. The start date was also narrowed down further. But the date causes dissatisfaction among fans. The new episodes appear much later than expected.
The first part of “Outlander” Season 7 was released in June 2023. The overly long season has now been filmed and work has already begun on season 8, the grand finale of the Starz series. And yet fans still have to wait a long time until part 2 of season 7 finally appears.
“Outlander” season 7, part 2 will not be released until November 2024
Starz released some behind-the-scenes photos from Season 7 on Instagram and revealed that Season 7B won’t be released until November 2024. Instead of creating anticipation, this announcement is causing discontent among fans.
They are tried and tested as “Draughtlander”, a neologism that describes the waiting time between the seasons of “Outlander” (drought). But with almost a year and a half of waiting time between episodes of a single season, even the most loyal fans’ patience is slowly running out.
Fans are particularly upset about Starz’s decision to advertise season 7 as a “supersize” instead of simply making it two smaller seasons. They see this as Starz’s strategy to hold off their subscribers for as long as possible so that they don’t cancel their subscription.
So far, German fans can only buy or rent season 7 of “Outlander” because no streaming service has a normal streaming offer. There will certainly be more time until season 7 starts on Netflix.
With such a late start, we can’t expect Season 8 of “Outlander” until the end of 2025 at the earliest. But Starz has already thought about how “Outlander” can become a franchise. “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” is the first spin-off of the time travel romance. The new series tells the love stories of Claire and Jamie’s parents.
