Outlander: The Grand Finale – Author Diana Gabaldon provides clues to the end of the successful series

The remaining 8 episodes from “Outlander” Season 7 are currently still waiting to be broadcast, while author Diana Gabaldon continues to work diligently on the last book in her book series of the same name. There will be a total of ten novels; book 9, “The Swarming of a Thousand Bees,” has already been published.

Gabaldon keeps dropping hints about the end of Jamie and Claire Fraser’s story. So we already know from the FAQ on their website that the “Outlander” story will end sometime in the 1800s. The story is also supposed to have a happy ending, but fans will still have to shed a lot of tears.

An explanation for Ghost Jamie

So far, apart from Gabaldon, only series actor Sam Heughan knows how the book series will end. The author shared the final pages of the story with the Jamie mime and he had to swear not to tell even colleague Caitríona Balfe (Claire Fraser) (via Esquire UK).

Brianna Fraser’s actress, Sophie Skelton, revealed in an interview with Digital Spy that she hopes for Brianna and Roger that she can travel to the future again and that her little family can live there in peace.

But readers and fans of the series know that this vision is only possible without her father Jamie, because he cannot travel through time. Gabaldon sticks to this vehemently.

The topic of the final book will also be the question of how Jamie was able to travel as a ghost to 1945 to watch Claire on her second honeymoon with Frank. We also know that it is definitely Jamie from the FAQ section of Gabaldon’s website. She also wrote ominously on twitter: “Spirits do not exist in a place where time has meaning.”

Does this mean Jamie visits Claire from the afterlife? There are many fan theories surrounding Ghost Jamie, but we only find out how the scene ultimately resolves in the final book and probably also in the last season of the series.

But it still takes a while until the end of both the series and the books. Since the books in the series are always very long, it takes Diana Gabaldon a few years to finish them. However, since the series will end with season 8, an exact adaptation of the novel’s ending is not expected. But of course Gabaldon also has a say in the outcome of the series.
