Outstanding talents, strong emotions: what awaits you in the next season of “The Voice”

BACKGROUND – They’re back, healthier than ever. Amel Bent, Vianney, Marc Lavoine and Florent Pagny have taken back possession of the red armchairs with undisguised pleasure. This Monday, December 20, we attended the blind auditions of the 11th edition of the TF1 telecrochet, which will be broadcast in 2022. Attention, it sends!

They start together “another story”, like the song by Gérard Blanc that they will perform at the opening of the season. But the good humor is still there. Their complicity even seems even stronger. Delighted with their first joint experience, Amel Bent, Vianney, Marc Lavoine and Florent Pagny set out again in search of raw talents for “The Voice”. This is the first time in nine years that the casting of coaches has not been renewed from one year to the next. Obvious to see them laugh, again and again.

The quartet met two days earlier for the very first blind audition session of season 11 of TF1’s telecrochet. After a resting Sunday, here they are back on the set inaugurated by the production for the semi-final of “The Voice All Stars” two months ago. More imposing, more perilous too. “Watch your step !”, Marc Lavoine repeated to each of the starting talents. Amel Bent, whose rounded belly is sublimated by a tight black dress, arrives in its place on the arm of Florent Pagny.

On this show there is room for everyone– Vianney after the passage of a talent in a wheelchair

“There is only one gentleman here”, laughs Vianney, more electric battery than ever. Always standing when he wants to convince a talent to join his team, the singer does not keep still. His “little pleasure” ? Jump into his chair while he is in motion. “Can you spin it around and I’ll take it on my way?”, asks the one who, last season, broke two armchairs and delayed the shoot with his acrobatics…. “Oh no, not this year! I’m not in condition”, smiles her neighbor, pregnant with her third child.

“Let’s go for the first talent. Have a good shoot!”, launches the manager to a private public plateau because of the rebound in the health crisis. So it is in an area far from the field of cameras that we attend blind auditions. A young woman in a dark pink sequined jumpsuit makes her entrance and immediately seduces with her powerful voice. “You’re a showgirl, you’re the kind of talent you want on your team!”, enthuses Amel Bent. The red buzzes multiply throughout the afternoon. And many are those to seduce the four coaches.

There are those who surprise, like this 16-year-old girl who covers a piece of cult rock. “I did not expect that”, Vianney wonders, “hyper pissed off at himself” not to have turned around. There are those who make people dance, including Florent Pagny. “I’ve never seen him like this”, assures Amel Bent. And there are those who move to tears, like this young man in a wheelchair who made the trip from New Caledonia to sing one of the flagship titles of one of the coaches. “On this show, there is room for everyone”, will insist Vianney during a very moving sequence.

There are talents that also stand out, like this young Norman who, behind her piano, offered “a moment of grace like there are few”, according to Amel Bent. Or this shy young man who came to sing The Doors without really believing it. And who will make everyone smile with his sharp repartee and his “Madame Bent”.

Between each audition, the four coaches discuss, joke. Florent Pagny even makes a Marc Lavoine in great shape cry with laughter. Teasing and not stingy in jokes, the singer had “hard to find the words” after the performance of a talent that could be one of the revelations of the season. “I was just expecting to come and go”, slips the 30-year-old caregiver who delivered, accompanied by his electric guitar, a delicate cover of a classic of French song that is too rarely heard. A suspended moment which should touch the viewers in the heart.
