After heavy Russian air strikes on Ukraine this morning, damage as well as deaths and injuries are reported in various parts of the country. There is said to be one dead and 25 injured in Dnipro, reports the Kyiv Independent. According to Ukrainian information, two people were killed in the Khmelnytskyi region. In addition, critical infrastructure was hit, according to local authorities.

In the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, a residential building was damaged, said the head of the regional military administration, Yuri Malaschko. So far it is known that four people have been injured. The attack with cruise missiles and ballistic missiles resulted in a total of five large explosions in the city.

In the city of Novomoskovsk in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 24 people, including five children, were injured, Suspilne public radio reported. Four hits were reported from the large city of Kharkiv in the east. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that industrial companies in particular were attacked. He spoke on Telegram about an injured person. Firefighters extinguished the resulting fires.

In the small town of Zmiiv in the Kharkiv region, several people had to be rescued from the rubble of a house. Explosions were also reported in the cities of Krivyi Rih and Khmelnytskyi.

Russian forces launched a major combined attack in the early hours for the third time in a few days. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and drones were used. There was an air alert across the country.

Since December 29, around 120 people have died in Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, according to UN humanitarian coordinator Denise Brown. There are also almost 500 injured and a lot of destruction. “Behind each of these numbers is a story of incredible suffering,” Brown said, according to the Ukrinform news agency. An attack in the Donetsk region alone with S-300 rockets resulted in eleven deaths, five of them children.
