Over 3,000 people work on the Call of Duty franchise

In the old days, Call of Duty was a new game every year with some additional content in the following months. Today, Call of Duty is no longer a series of games but an ecosystem including a constantly updated annual game, plus free-to-play. call of duty warzone and Call of Duty Mobile. Knowing that the successor to Warzone is expected this year and that the Activision teams are working internally on a mobile version of this same Warzone, it is not surprising to know that the franchise has never benefited from so many resources. Through Activision studios, they are even more than 3,000 today working on the various Call of Duty projects.

The annual report also tells us that Call of Duty Mobile, which has exceeded $1 billion in revenue, has over 650 million downloads worldwide, and has an audience equal to the number of gamers playing Call of Duty on consoles and PC. Activision shares this success with Tencent Games whose TiMi Studio is responsible for development. On the other hand, it is internally that Activision is actively preparing the release of its mobile Warzone.

As we already knew, the only downside is in the poor performance of call of duty vanguard, which sold less well than its predecessors and failed to live up to the band’s expectations. A disappointment that Activision puts in particular on the back of the chosen setting, the Second World War. A rebound is expected this year with the release of Modern Warfare 2 by Infinity Ward, studio also at the controls of the next Warzone which will be launched in parallel. As a reminder, the Modern Warfare of 2019 is the franchise’s biggest hit yet, according to Activision.
