Overrated oat milk and militant climate protectors

Ldear reader, “You shouldn’t drink oat milk!” This surprising quote comes from Jessie Inchauspé. she is biochemist. In an interview with Kathrin Hummel, she explains why vinegar helps against belly fat and in what order you should eat your meals to lose weight: It’s always about what’s good for blood sugar levels and quality of life. She thinks you should listen to your body. And ask yourself: What is my hunger trying to tell me? What about my pimples, my migraines, my concentration problems? My tiredness, my weight gain? In the past five years, exciting discoveries have been made in laboratories around the world that have proven that it’s not just what we eat that matters, but the order in which we eat it. Because that influences our blood sugar level – i.e. the amount of glucose that is in our blood. So it affects every system in our body, says Inchauspé. And the oat milk? It often causes enormous glucose spikes because it contains more carbohydrates than almond or cow’s milk – after all, it is not made from nuts but from grain. So it’s not advisable to drink it. Especially not on an empty stomach. But it’s even better to switch to almond milk or cow’s milk.

That most popular quarters in Frankfurt? Hardly anyone will disagree if you point it out with the northrend answers. Even gentrification isn’t dampening the excitement. Take a walk with Alexander Jürgs through a place of longing full of clichés, where a lot of oat milk is probably drunk, right? Because of course there are “Northrend Ecos”: They only buy from organic supermarkets, when they go to a restaurant they want to know exactly where the meat comes from and whether the carrots really come from certified cultivation. They have been voting for the Greens for ages, and they were there when they took a walk through the Dannenröder Forest. They have been preaching for a long time that too little is being done to combat climate change. But they do like to get on the plane for a vacation in Tuscany because it is so practical. A cliché? Maybe. So everyone cultivates their prejudices against the other – quite happily – so the fronts remain clear: Otherwise, however, people in the north end like to leave each other alone, writes Jürgs. Because things are still casual in the district north of the city center. Everyone should be happy in their own way. At least that hasn’t changed.

Either we act now or it’s too late. That’s what she says “Last Generation”. The members of this group believe it is necessary to “resist” so that the climate catastrophe is stopped and humanity is not annihilated. In a lecture they want to use to recruit fellow campaigners, they talk about a system that tells people unrealistic stories so that they remain calm and stay the course. But this course leads people to annihilation. In a commentary worth reading, Philip Eppelsheim sheds light on what is true about it – and what is really catastrophic.
