  • Blizzard is aware of the launch issues in Overwatch 2.
  • Stability updates are expected later this week.
  • You will also receive a legendary skin and a medi-pack as an apology.

Overwatch 2’s launch didn’t go quite as fans had hoped. Now, as an excuse, there’s content you can grab for free.

Stability updates are planned for this week, according to an announcement by Blizzard. As an apology for the launch issues, you can claim a Legendary Reaper Skin and Medi-Pack until October 25th. In addition, there will soon be weekends where you can collect twice as much experience points.

SMS Protect almost abolished

In another announcement, Blizzard said it understands fans are frustrated with the launch experience. In the same announcement, the company now assures that SMS Protect is no longer mandatory for everyone.

If you are a console player and have been playing since June 9, 2021, then you do not need to provide your mobile number. If you’ve ever played classic Overwatch on PC, you’ll no longer need SMS Protect either, and the same goes for those who linked their Battle.net accounts to the old Overwatch before Overwatch 2.

If you are also affected by problems with Overwatch 2, you may find the right solution with us. For those new to Overwatch, we also have a tier list to help you find the right hero for you.
