Overwatch 2 free? Xbox would have made a radical decision

A few hours from the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, one of the announcements around Overwatch 2 would have been revealed in advance. And the least we can say is that it is surprising.

The Xbox Conference is fast approaching. If Bethesda should be in the spotlight, the other publisher bought by Microsoft could have the right to its share of announcements. Activision-Blizzard should indeed be talked about again tonight or next week with Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 in free-to-play?

It was once again “The Snitch” who spilled the beans. In a message featuring the motorcycle of the game’s hero team, theinsider announces that Overwatch 2 will be free-to-play. Given that he leaked the entire State of Play and the release date of The Last of Us Remake, the conditional is almost out of order, but you can never be too careful. If the tweet could refer to the first game, its recent likes leave no room for doubt: its message speaks well of the second opus.

For more details and above all confirmation, you will have to wait until the Xbox Summer Game Fest 2022 conference, which will be held this evening at 7 p.m., at the earliest. Otherwise, Overwatch 2 will have the right to its own dedicated stream on June 16 at an undetermined time. Will this change in business model only affect the multiplayer component? Its predecessor too? See you in the hours or days that follow to learn more.
