You probably know, Blizzard broke its agreement with NetEaseand its games are no longer playable in China, much to the chagrin of fans ofOverwatch and of World of Warcraft notably. Chinese servers have been cut, and even though it is possible to go through a VPN, fans are disappointed and frustrated. Concerning Overwatch 2well the version Steam finally makes it easier to find the title, but you still have to go through official international servers, with what it means long wait times to connect and latency while playing. And of course, the same criticisms as all the other players regarding the development of the game are still there.
With the arrival ofOverwatch 2 on Steam, this is the first time that Chinese players can finally express themselves on an official platform, and they know how to be heardeven going so far as to give a good mark to War of the Three Kingdomsa very poorly rated Chinese card game, so thatOverwatch 2 remains well at the bottom of the ranking of the worst games of Steam. The idea here seems to be above all to show that the franchise is still popular in China, players want to have fun on the title but are demanding local servers to better enjoy the game. Now it remains to be seen whether Blizzard will be receptive to these criticisms to consider a new partnership with NetEase or another studio to publish its games in China.
Moreover, on Steamwell Overwatch 2 has its little success, with a tip to 75,608 players connected simultaneously on the day of arrival on the platform, a nice figure dropped to 46,328 yesterday, but all the same, the players are there on Steamwhile there is nothing different with the platform Battle.netfar from being the worst on the market.
