Overwatch 2: No balancing planned before season 2

In a post on the official website, the developers ofOverwatch 2 explained, among other things, why there shouldn’t be any character balancing changes this season. So that means the meta should stay exactly the same by the start of Season 2, which is announced for December 6th. Among the motivations of the teams in the game, we find in the first place the current state of the meta.

According to the message, all of the characters would have a win rate between 45 and 55%, meaning the meta is relatively open. Despite this stat, the team outlines a few characters who particularly stand out in their position, and who could be subject to further adjustments.

As for tanks, we have the particular cases of D.Va and Zarya on which the developers plan to “ keep a watchful eye “. In the same idea, they evoke the case of Genji in the DPS category, which seems to be doing well, Blizzard also plans to monitor his development so he doesn’t completely dominate the other alternatives for the role.

But it’s not just candidates for the nerf, since we also see that Doomfist could benefit from improvements to its barrier and charge. Balancing issues which could however be upset by the arrival of a new character during season 2. We know very little about it, except that it is a tank. Future patches dedicated to meta changes may well be based on its reception by the community. In the meantime, you can also find the tier list of the best Overwatch 2 characters, to get you started.
