OW2: Dallas Fuel wins the first Overwatch League on Overwatch 2

End clap this weekend for the 2022 Overwatch League season on the new Overwatch 2. After a regular season, the fifth, which ran from May to October, Dallas Fuel was the heavy favorite for the final competition. Topping the charts in the Western Conference, the NA team was battling with SF-Shock but had taken the lead by a few small points. The structure could also benefit from a certain aura after having one of the four tournaments of the season, the Summer Showdown, and having been in the final of the first, the Kickoff Clash against LA Gladiators. Opposite, SF Shock seemed a little more feverish, absent from major events.

In the East, Seoul Dynasty was THE big representative of the season, having won almost everything and finishing at the top of its regular season standings. It is therefore no surprise that we found in the playoffs a first duel of masters in the semi-finals of the upper bracket on November 3: Dallas Fuel against Seoul Dynasty. Large advantage for Dallas who quickly showed his determination (3/0), climbing to the small final. For its part, SF Shock had made a poor performance in the previous round, letting Houston Outlaws pass (2/3). It is this last team which joined Dallas in the high final.

After a rather balanced meeting, Dallas won the push over Colosseo in the 4th round, winning 3/1 and winning the grand final. And… it was SF Shock, who put together the whole looser bracket, who could then finally take their chance. Despite a very impressive battle, regular season dominance confirmed: Dallas Fuel wins OWL 2022 beating San Francisco 4/3 and lifts a new trophy, but his first world title after reaching the podium in 2021.
