There are new details in the case of the knife attack on Wednesday afternoon on the A12 Inntal motorway near Wattens in Tyrol: The son (40) attacked his mother (72) with a kitchen knife. The scenes that took place on Wednesday at around 4.30 p.m. on the Inntal motorway are almost unbelievable. The 72-year-old Greek was on her way from Kufstein in the direction of Innsbruck. Her 40-year-old son, who is a German citizen, was sitting in the passenger seat. However, both are domiciled in Germany.
Mother injured with kitchen knife
Shortly before the Wattens exit, the driver had to stop the car due to the traffic jam. There was a verbal argument between the mother-son team, which escalated properly. The son got out, ran around the car, opened the driver’s door and attacked the mother with a kitchen knife!
“Courageous road users who were stuck in a traffic jam rushed to the woman’s aid. They were able to overpower the suspect and fix him on the ground until the police forces arrived, ”says Gert Hofmann, deputy head of the LKA Tirol.
Admission due to psychological condition
The officers were able to secure the weapon that the accused had thrown away. Due to his psychological condition, he was admitted to a hospital and admitted to the hospital.
