The end is coming. The broadcast of the last seven episodes of season 4 of the series “Ozark” will begin on April 29. A conclusion that promises to be grandiose.
Netflix accompanied this announcement with a short video (SPOILERS beware) in which we hear Ruth Langmore talk about the curse of her family, and evoke her childhood traumas.

The streaming platform also released an official synopsis: “Marty and Wendy are rid of Helen and have risen to the top of the Navarro Cartel Empire. They find a new opportunity to leave the Ozarks, but old sins resurface and the most dangerous threats come from blood.
A matter of choice
What does the future hold for the Byrde family? Reading this presentation, it seems that Marty and Wendy, as well as their two children, will find themselves in even more uncomfortable situations. See potentially fatal. In an interview with The Daily Beast site last January, showrunner Chris Mundy spoke about the importance of the notion of choice among the characters at the end of the series.
“I think our trajectory for the end is that the people involved are going to be making more choices than usual. In the series, there was this feeling that the Byrdes were just reacting to what was happening to them, and mostly trying to keep themselves alive. In later episodes, the question is whether it was worth it. If we do this for the family, what do we do if the family explodes? And for Marty, to contemplate his marriage to Wendy, and to think, when is unconditional love healthy, and when is it not? When would I be better off choosing something other than this wedding?” he explained.
Chris Mundy had also mentioned the character of Ruth Langmore. “She has to decide: Do I get revenge on Javi, the Byrdes, or blow it all up? Who is my family now? She lost her family, and in many ways Marty was the closest thing to a surrogate family for her, she’s not reacting anymore, she’s making choices. So I think for the last seven episodes, it becomes more a matter of choice until the ultimate conclusion.
