Paaradox: The BRIGITTE podcast with Oskar Holzberg

In the podcast "Paaradox", BRIGITTE editor Nikola Haaks talks to the couple therapists Claudia Clasen-Holzberg and Oskar Holzberg about love, relationship problems and sex. Be sure to check it out!

“We somehow don't fit together anymore”, that's what couples often say when they are in couples therapy with Oskar or Claudia Holzberg for the first time. They do mine: we no longer understand what the other actually wants. We just argue. We don't have sex anymore. We annoy each other. We're a good team, but that's about it. But what is really behind it?

Paaradox is the new Brigitte podcast with the couple therapist couple Claudia Clasen-Holzberg and Oskar Holzberg. The two have not only been in their profession for over 30 years, but have also been married for just as long. The perfect prerequisites for talking about topics that repeatedly challenge couples in relationships (or even let them fail): for example, communication, bonding, a culture of debate, vicious circles, commitment and of course sex. Claudia and Oskar are interviewed by BRIGITTE department head Nikola Haaks and tell not only about experiences from their therapy sessions, but also relentlessly about themselves. Surprising, funny and insightful – regardless of whether couples have been together for two months or twenty years.

Episode 1: Commitment – in good times and bad

Commitment means: I am committed to you – in good times and bad. In the beginning it's still very easy, because mostly emotionally controlled, just in the intoxication of being in love. Later, when the relationship shows its first signs of use, commitment is a conscious choice that we make and has little to do with romance. But it is essential for a good connection. Why is it so difficult sometimes? How does it work? When is a limit reached? Nikola Haaks clarifies all of this with the couple therapists.
