In less than ten years, the co-founder of Gorafi has become a safe bet in humor through his success on the radio and in Quotidien on TMC. Pablo Mira bids farewell to the caricatural character who made him known in Pablo Mira says things for money on Tuesday, June 21, at 9:15 p.m. on TMC.
How do you consider this show, captured in Lille on April 9?
Pablo Mira: That’s 90 minutes of punchlines! I am rarely happy with my job, but here, I find that the result is successful. I have presented this character on stage for five years. He says horrible things, he thinks the opposite of what I think, but I take pleasure in embodying him.
Has it evolved over the years?
Yes of course. At first he was a liberal columnist, then he had his macronist period. And then with the emergence of the discourse ofEric Zemmour or what can say Pascal Praud, he embraced the spirit of the times.
As those you just mentioned would say, aren’t you one of those well-meaning comedians who teach everyone lessons?
Putting labels on someone is reductive. It prevents us from apprehending reality. Where there is stupidity, I go there, I talk about it, whether it comes from the right or from the left.
The title of your show evokes venality. What relationship do you have with money?
I’m happy to make a living doing what I love, it’s a luxury. But I’m not into “always more money”.
Is this a calling for you?
The unknown, Greenland, idiots… I watched a lot of comedians and when I was 13 or 14, I wanted to go on stage. But I was first a journalist, from 2008 when I made my first flashes. The changeover took place when I participated in 2012 in the creation of Gorafi, the parody site. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
Are you already thinking about your next show?
Yes ! I leave aside the miserable winner character to work on an inventory of the years 1990 to 2000!
You intervene in Daily once a week, on Tuesday. What will you be doing next season?
I’m thinking about it. If I find a great concept that hits the mark, why not. I will make my decision by the end of the month. In any case, it’s a luxury to work with people I like and who go out of their way to make this program the latest “infotainment” show on TV!
To decompress, what do you do?
I’m a humor freak. I think about jokes all day. And in my DNA, I have at least 30% geek. I can spend seven months on a video game.
