Samsung is betting big on artificial intelligence, and it shows with their latest launch, the Galaxy S24. They launched a massive advertising campaign to promote these new technological jewels, highlighting Galaxy AI. On its TV advertisements, or those on YouTube, we do not see “Galaxy S24”, but “Galaxy AI”.

The new AI functions of the Galaxy S24 are a real turning point, and the best part is that some of these features will also land on older models.

If you have had the opportunity to read the Galaxy S24 Ultra review, you must have noticed that AI is the big plus of these new models. Samsung may not have been the first to embrace AI in smartphones, but they are the first to bet on it in a big way.

It’s AI built right into the phone, but also AI that works through the cloud, and even in collaboration with Google, for everything from enhanced note-taking to on-the-fly photo edits.

And after 2025?

Samsung is offering the use of Galaxy AI free for two years, while the Galaxy S24s will benefit from seven years of software updates. But after these two free years, what will happen? TM Roh, one of the managers of Samsung Electronics, gave some clues.

Basically, they have gone all out on developing their own language model, but they have not yet decided how they are going to make this investment profitable after 2025. TM Roh still suggested that basic AI features could remain freewhich is good news.

But Samsung doesn’t stop there. They are already thinking about new, more advanced AI features that would be offered via a paid subscription. As TM Roh says, there are people who will be happy with the free features, but others who will want to go further and will be willing to pay for it.

And finally, Samsung has an ambitious plan: they want to put Galaxy AI on 100 million devices this year, not just the Galaxy S24. We are also talking about the Galaxy S23 family, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and even the Galaxy Tab S9. This should all happen before the end of the first semester.
