NAPLOUSE, West Bank (Reuters) – A Palestinian activist was killed overnight from Saturday to Sunday in the occupied West Bank in what Palestinians describe as a targeted blast carried out by Israel.

Tamer Kilani, a leader of the group known as ‘Lions Den’ in Nablus, where clashes between Palestinian activists and security forces are common, was killed when a bomb exploded on a parked motorbike nearby, the activist group said.

The Israeli army did not wish to comment on the explosion, specifying that it was constantly carrying out operations against the violence.

“The bomb exploded as he passed and he became a martyr,” said Tamer Kilani’s father, who was not there at the time of the explosion. “We don’t know if the bomb was timed or if it was triggered remotely.”
