OLED will be brighter than ever this year! At least if we are to believe the announcements of the various players in this market. After LG and Samsung, it’s Panasonic’s turn to unveil its high-end OLED TV: the MZ2000.

In line with the Panasonic JZ2000 and LZ2000 which had already impressed us, the MZ2000 will be available in three versions of 55, 65 and 77 inches and once again promises to push its limits.

A brighter peak than ever for OLED

It’s a race, in the OLED sector, the photon race! On the one hand with Samsung Display and its QD-OLED technology, on the other with LG Display’s WOLED panels which arrive this year with a new technology allowing it to stand up to its competitor: the MLA for Micro Lenses Array.

It is precisely these new generation panels that Panasonic uses for its MZ2000 range, at least on the 55 and 65 inch references. The latter benefit from the name Master Oled Ultimate, while the 77-inch model will use a panel similar to that of the LZ2000 launched in 2022. It is the brightness which is at the center of the issues with MLA technology. The objective is indeed to obtain a higher luminous peak while avoiding the rise in temperature. According to Panasonic, the televisions concerned would be able to reach a luminous peak of up to 1,500 cd / m², a value which the manufacturer demonstrated during its press conference before CES 2023.

Video processing, gaming, audio: a range that leaves nothing out

As the highest range in Panasonic’s catalog, this MZ2000 series does not overlook any point. The Japanese manufacturer’s press conference explains in particular that the HCX Pro AI processor will further improve the image thanks to a machine learning algorithm capable of adapting sound and image in real time for a better viewing experience depending on the content displayed. whether it’s a TV show, movies or even sports. The MZ2000 televisions also include an audio system with multiple speakers, a Bass Booster option, as well as a 360° Soundscape Pro function to create an upscale 3D audio bubble with Dolby Atmos. The audio part also benefits from three modes of sound focusing, it is a question of adjusting the volume differently according to the position of the spectator(s) in the room.

On the video game side, Panasonic is continuing its momentum by offering HDMI 2.1, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as well as VRR compatibility which includes Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync Premium, not to mention the input lag that the manufacturer announces as being “ultra low” with only 1.5 ms.

The enticing novelties, however, focus on the True Game mode that is supposed to bring “all the color accuracy from movies to gaming”. The different image modes offered for the game are not always the best worked and calibrated on televisions, Panasonic intends here to offer its expertise for a faithful image, even when it comes to playing.
