This new line of development for the recycling specialist is proving to be particularly dynamic.
Work is in progress in Cergy-Pontoise. They will last two years. From the end of 2024, 200,000 tons of non-recyclable waste will be burned each year to produce electricity. It will then be Paprec’s largest energy recovery unit. It is true that this “energy” branch is brand new to the recycling specialist. When it was created by Jean-Luc Petithuguenin in 1994, Paprec specialized in the collection and recycling of paper and cardboard. Then he extended his activity, first in the field of recycling to other materials (plastic, scrap metal, etc.), then to waste management in the broad sense. From now on, it has made energy a strategic axis of its development.
This movement was made on the occasion of two acquisitions. In the summer of 2021, Paprec acquired the company Tiru (industrial treatment of urban waste) from EDF. Created in 1922 by the city of Paris, Tiru operates four factories in the Paris region, but also several others…
