RTL+ goes international: With “Two Sides of the Abyss”, RTL Germany and Warner Bros. Discovery have commissioned a series together for the first time. Accordingly, the thriller series starts at the same time on RTL+ and the pay-TV channel Warner TV Serie. The title will air internationally on HBO Max.
“Two Sides of the Abyss” – where is the series running and when?
The premiere is on RTL+ and Co. on May 8, 2023. “Two Sides of the Abyss” has six episodes, all of which are available directly in the box set on RTL+. Warner TV Serie shows a double episode every Monday at 8:15 p.m. HBO Max also has two episodes on Mondays.
In the course of the month, the thriller series should also be available on free TV, namely on Vox. The exact date is not fixed yet.
“Two sides of the abyss” – this is the plot
“Two Sides of the Abyss” deals with a mysterious series of murders. Years ago, Dennis Opitz murdered policewoman Luise Berg’s 17-year-old daughter Merle. But now he was released early from prison. Externally, he has completely transformed and is considered resocialized.
Murders will happen again soon. So Luise digs into Dennis’ past and realizes that he is out for revenge. But nobody wants to believe Luise. And suddenly she and her youngest daughter Josi are targeted by the young man.
“Two Sides of the Abyss” – cast
Award-winning actress Anne Ratte-Polle takes on the role of Luise Berg. Dennis Opitz is played by Anton Dreger. Luise’s murdered daughter Merle is Josephine Thiesen. New Faces Award winner Lea van Acken slips into the role of young Josi.
Other roles include Renato Schuch, Dirk Martens, Ann-Kathrin Kramer, Senita Huskić, Claudia Eisinger and Maximilian Brauer.
