Many students, more than 84,000, find themselves this Friday, July 7 without assignment for next year, while the summer holidays begin this evening and the main admission phase ends at midnight on Parcoursup. This phase, which began on 1er June, concerns the wishes confirmed last April by the students.
Tens of thousands disappointed…
As every year, the tension rises for many candidates before the start of the summer holidays. This Friday, July 7, they were still more than 84,000 waiting for an assignment proposal on Parcoursup. As a reminder, the entry platform presents a catalog of 21,000 training courses, recognized by the State, allowing access to higher education using a search engine and detailed files.
The number of candidates still waiting is quite large, representing nearly 10% of the 917,000 students who relied on Parcoursup for their future university studies. Of the 84,000 students, there are approximately 42,000 high school students, 25,000 candidates seeking reorientation and just over 17,000 educated abroad.
If the figure remains high, it is still lower than last year at the same time (94,000 candidates out of a total of 936,000). But what will happen for those who will not have obtained an admission proposal by 11:59 p.m. this Friday despite their wishes?
… who nevertheless still has hope
If they are likely to spend part of the summer a little less serene than their comrades who will have received a proposal, all is not lost for as much. Indeed, in the event that a student has not received an admission proposal, a so-called “complementary” phase will open, in which it is possible to register for 6,300 various training courses (licences, schools, BTS , BUT, CPFE and others).
It is therefore possible, for each student who has not found the right shoe or who has not received a favorable response after having made their wishes, to formulate new ones until September 12, 2023, at 11 p.m. 59. In 2022, 74,000 candidates had found training during this additional phase.
The formations will continue during the summer to send their answers, in particular for the licenses. Some selective formations will suspend their services from July 14 to August 23.
