A world event, a grandiose celebration. Paris is hosting the Olympic Games in 2024. Exactly one hundred years after those of 1924 which also took place in the same city, the French capital will be the center of the world for the duration of an Olympics from Friday July 26 to Sunday August 11, 2024, then from Wednesday August 28 to Sunday September 8, 2024 for the Paralympic Games. A few months before the deadline, despite looming calls for strikes, numerous cultural events are taking place. Some have already started and others will be installed in the coming months. Let’s start with Paris, the city of the 2024 Olympics, an event which recruits seniors. Run to see the exhibition “Fashion and sport, from one podium to another” at the Museum of Decorative Arts which will end on April 7, 2024. You will understand why jogging and sneakers have become fashion essentials. To stay on the same theme, the Palais Galliera will offer the second hanging of its exhibition “Fashion on the move“ from April 20, 2024 to January 5, 2025. More than 250 works exhibited. The exhibition traces, through the museum’s collections, a history of fashion from the 18th century to the present day and develops the transversal theme of the body in movement or how the practice of sport has made it possible to change clothing to be more fluid in his gestures. For art lovers, the Marmottan Monet museum presents “Stake ! Artists and sport (1870-1930)” from April 4 to September 1, 2024.
