Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Heidi Klum prefer to use very special names for their animal favorites.

No matter whether it’s funny, bizarre or exotic: the main thing is not boring, that seems to be the motto of many stars when it comes to their name Pet goes. The celebrities are inspired by a wide variety of things. Be it your hometown, your favorite series or other famous personalities.

Heidi Klum relies on old German names

At the beginning of September, Heidi Klum (50) revealed on her Instagram pagethat she gave her husband Tom Kaulitz (34) two puppies for his birthday. Shortly afterwards she announced the unusual choice of name for the new four-legged friends. She presented the dog with the words: “This is Uschi. A very old-fashioned German name.” She laughed and was amused by the name. It continued with number two: “And that’s the boy. That’s Jäger, like ‘Hunter’ in German.” The model had previously relied on traditional names from her homeland: her Irish wolfhound Anton died in the spring, and she once also had a bulldog named Albert.

By the way, fellow model Eva Padberg (43) also likes old German names. She named her Jack Russell terriers Hilde and Bärbel.

Klum’s daughter Leni (19) probably inherited the creative choice of name from her famous mother. She named her cat after the unforgettable Queen of Hearts, Lady Di (1961-1997): “Princess Diana helps me with my homework”, the model wrote on Instagram in mid-September to a snapshot that shows her on the sofa with a cat and a laptop.

From Prada to Dollar

Paris Hilton (42) is a dog lover and almost always has one of her many four-legged friends with her. For International Dog Day on August 26th she showed many pictures with her favorites and revealed that she loves “all my babies” so much. She probably also likes to think of names for the animals. Her idea is obviously to include all the things she likes. For example, she has already chosen Dollar, Diamond Baby, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Marilyn Monroe and Prada.

Singer Miley Cyrus (30) could also publish half a name book. Because she already had several dogs with interesting names like Lila, Bean, Happy, Mary Jane, Floyd and Ziggy. Colleague Taylor Swift (33), on the other hand, is a big cat fan, but no less creative. She found inspiration in film and television. This is how she looks after the cats at home Dr. Meredith Gray (from the series “Grey’s Anatomy”) and Olivia Benson (from the series “Law & Order”) as well as cat Benjamin Button (from the film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”).

Exotic and bold

But it’s not just American celebrities who choose creative names. Designer Guido Maria Kretschmer (58) has the Russian Borzoi greyhound ladies Alaiyha, Undine, Idaya and Ivy. In May he mourned the loss of his fifth furry friend, Aimée. Singer Lena Meyer-Landrut (32) adopted her dog Kiwi, a mix of Labrador and Dalmatian, from Greece. “DSDS” juror Dieter Bohlen (69) called his Mini Maltese like a famous film boxer – Rocky. Presenter Michelle Hunziker (46) also gave her little darling a big name: her toy poodle is called Leone (lion).
