On the French market, most self-consumption solar kits are marketed at around €600, a far from negligible cost for most consumers. This is why Lidl’s offer, which offers its own solar kit under the Parkside brand for only €199, has aroused great interest.

The Parkside PBKW 300 A1 Smart kit is advertised as weatherproof and guaranteed to perform 80% for 25 years. It also includes a 10-year warranty on the solar module. In addition, it will probably be possible to extend the power of the kit up to 600 Wp by adding another micro-inverter and three other solar panels.

The Lidl solar kit has another interesting feature: it can be monitored remotely using the Lidl Home app, which provides detailed information on electricity production and savings.

Currently, we do not know when these extensions will be available in Germany, or if Lidl France plans to market this solar kit on French territory. However, given the initial success of the product in Germany, it is not excluded that it could arrive one day in France.
