In the social world of the long-distance traveler there are tourists of high, middle and low rank. The reason for this lies in the unequal distribution of freedom to travel, which in turn is based, at least roughly, on the international reputation of the respective home country.
If you classify the passports of different countries according to their practical value for the traveller, the passports of Americans, Canadians and Germans are at the top, granting their respective holders unhindered entry into 180 to 190 countries. The passports of the Russians, the Turks, the Colombians only do this for 110 to 130 destinations, and the Iranians and Indians have to be content with 40 to 60 destinations. So if you come from one of the rich and respected industrial countries, you are welcome practically everywhere. Citizens of poor or politically unstable countries, on the other hand, have to overcome disproportionately greater hurdles in order to reach travel destinations in more attractive regions.
